Tofino is a small village on the West coast of Vancouver Island, a three-hour drive from Victoria. It rains three times as much as in Vancouver, so not a place where I would like to live, but it is beautiful. Amazing for kayaking, whale watching, storm watching in the Winter (being completely exposed to the raw ocean, while Vancouver is sheltered by Vancouver Island).
Hell, we must go there. Wickaninnish Inn looks like a nice place to stay! Right now, the writer in residence is Margaret Atwood. Perhaps a weekend including a reading and dinner with the author (most famous Canadian novelist).
