Having a house, rather than an apartment, comes with all sorts of problems.. You have the lawn to mow, the snow to clear, and the use of energy for heating is not very effective, since anything that leaks out (radiating out of walls and windows) is wasted, rather than having the energy radiated by each being used to heat up other apartments. Sharing resources is always cheaper and better for the environment. Then again, when you do all these things knowing that you are working for yourself, it means it is all good fun, really, and taking care of a garden may make you care more for the environment.

A clean driveway - a Canadian virtue
Caring to keep your driveway clear of snow is a Canadian virtue. It's a virtue in the Humean and Aristotelian sense of virtue - it's good for you to be so disposed. It's not that having lots of snow there makes it look messy. When compressed, by walking and driving over it, snow becomes hard ice. And walking and driving on ice is not nice. So you must clear it pretty soon after it falls. I love the exercise, but wow, it's a lot of work. I did it today and it took me half an hour.

Caro amiguinho, qual "it's good for you to be so disposed" qual carapuça... De cada vez (diariamente) que limpo a tasca, WCs incluídos, (utilizados por dezenas de energúmenos), não me sinto nada good, apesar de, yes, I'm working for myself, too.

O meu único consolo, é que o Gandhi também limpou casas-de-banho comunitárias no "kibutz" (sim, eu sei que ele não era judeu, mas vou chamar o quê, comuna?) na África do Sul. Espero não acabar também de tanga e a fiar algodão.
Mas, sim, tratar do jardim é o máximo!!!!!!!!!!!
Na Primavera, devias tentar um hortinha. Dou aconselhamento jurídico.
